Purple Dancers + Common SenseThe shower water runs fast, warming up before its debut. The hard rain shower noises puncture the air and fill up the small bathroom. Steam rises, fog clouds the mirror, a bottle of shampoo falls over.

I swiftly close the door behind me. The glass swishes into place and I let the hot water soak into my hair. I stare straight forward as it does. Absentmindedly, I look at my wrists, my hands, my arms. The right side has three indents where my hair-ties were that practically suffocate my wrist. The left side has nothing but three freckles and about fourteen scars. Reminders of mistakes and memories and times I was weak. All had faded, except fo
Me Myself and...I lay in my bed. It's twelve at night, or in the morning in some cases. Three lights are on, stuck on one lamp post in the far corner. The glow only reaches my bed. The TV is on low, playing Adult Swim, and I watch a dark movie on instant Netflix in my bed. Tissues surround me because I have allergies. Full bloom in spring is great, unless you're me who can't breathe at all. The movie stops and I get up and take a drink from my Penny Ale beer glass filled with water. There are no clean glasses or mugs available. Pondering about the movie raises questions that are odd. I wish I could be the main character. Edgy, tormented, deep and brooding. I
